Hey Northgate,

This week marked the third Wednesday of the month, which means it was time for our Administrative Team meeting! For those who may not know, this team is elected by Northgate members to provide oversight and accountability to the Lead Pastor and Operations Director, particularly in areas like finances, facilities, policy, and personnel. They also serve as liaisons between the congregation and the Lead Pastor when needed.

This is a group of wise and knowledgeable individuals who love Northgate deeply and serve our church with dedication and heart. It truly is an honor to serve alongside them.

Need To Knows

This Weekend:

Fall Fun Night — TONIGHT from 5:30-7:30pm — Northgate Kids Wing — Kids in Kto4 (and their potty trained younger siblings) are invited to join Miss Becca and her team for a night of crafts, games, pizza, snacks, and more!
Worship Services — Saturday, 6:00pm, Sunday, 9:30am & 11:00am — Join us for the second week of the “American Idol” series and look at reordering faith and politics. We will end this weekend’s services by sharing in communion together.
Sunday Morning Prayer Group — Sunday, 9:30am — Meeting Room 4 — Join this faithful group that prays together for our weekend services and much more!
Middle School & High School Base — Sunday, 11:00am — Northgate Meeting Room 2/3 — There is time for hanging out, teaching, and prayer led by our Next Generation Pastor, DL.

The Week Ahead:

Monday Night Bible Study — Monday, October 21, 6:30pm — Meeting Room 2/3 — Pastor Vern leads an in-depth Bible study focusing on the book of Galatians.
Peace Seekers — Monday, 6:30pm — Youth & Community Center, Room 205 (350 Bank Street). This is a Nar-Anon Family Group that gets together weekly to support each other in that process.
Spanish Class — Wednesday, 12:00pm — Northgate Meeting Room #1 — Rosalina leads a Spanish class on Wednesdays for anyone interested in improving their Spanish language skills. All levels of knowledge are welcome, including beginners! Weather permitting several group members also visit the prayer walk after class. They would love to have you join them!
Midweek Prayer Group - Wednesday, 1:00pm — Northgate Meeting Room #1 — This group meets weekly to pray for the needs of the church and staff.
Midweek Base — Wednesday, 6:00pm-8:00pm, Northgate Youth & Community Center — This program is for students in 5th-12th grade and includes times of worship, teaching, games, fun, food, and small groups. If you have any questions about Base, or any of our student ministries, reach out to our Next Generation Pastor DL Walter at dl@northgatefmc.com
Service Project — Saturday, October 26, 8:00am — We have an upcoming service project that we want to tackle at Northgate. There are some leftover pine logs in the parking lot near the playground. We want to cut these up, split them, and then move them to the back woods to use for next year's Man Camp. In particular we want to have this area cleaned up before our annual Vintage Christmas Event. We're looking for about 6 additional people to help with this project for about 2-3 hours of work, and also are in need of a wood splitter. Carol McLeod Women’s Conference — November 1-2 — Join us for Northgate's Women Conference with Guest Speaker Carol McLeod and the theme Devoted. We will determine from the pages of scripture what it means to live a life of all or nothing! Register Here.
Northgate 101 — Sunday, November 3, 9:30am-12:00pm — Are you interested in learning more about Northgate and possibly becoming a member? This class will do those things! Email office@northgatefmc.com to reserve your spot.
Base Retreat — Our middle schoolers and high schoolers will be going on a Fall Retreat from November 22-24 at the LeTourneau Christian Center! This retreat is open to students in grades 5-12. This year’s theme is "Thirst," inspired by Psalm 63:1. Experience worship, inspiring messages, fun activities, and new friendships. This is a great event to invite a friend. The cost is $100 per student. You can register online until October 23.
Centered — Wednesday, November 6, 6:00pm - Centered is a slow paced and relaxed service of worship and prayer.
Vintage Christmas — Thursday, December 5 & Friday, December 6 from 6:00-8:00pm in the pavilion and Northgate’s big back yard. Save one of the two dates and plan to join us for Northgate’s annual outdoor Christmas celebration!
