Hey Everyone,

Thank you for all the great feedback about the new format for this! The vast majority of the credit goes to our Communication Director, Amanda, who is doing an awesome job in her first few months on staff here! As Pastor Vern has said many times, the team here is one of the many things that makes this job so incredible.

I hope this newsletter will continue to be a valuable resource to keep you up to date with everything going on in the life of the church. If there is anything that isn’t in here that you think should be, please let me know.

Need To Knows

This Weekend:

Weekend Worship Services — Saturday, 6:00pm, Sunday, 9:30am & 11:00am — This will be the fourth and final week of our "Rerouting..." message series.
Sunday Morning Prayer Group — Sunday, 9:30am — Meeting Room 4 — Join this faithful group that prays together for our weekend services and much more!
Liturgical Worship — Sunday, 10:00am — Arbor House (350 Bank Street) — Led by Pastor Chris Landon, they will continue their series from the book of Judges.
Middle School & High School Base — Sunday, 11:00am — Meeting Room 2/3 — Pastor D.L. leads this group for ascending 6th-12th graders with time for hanging out, teaching, and prayer. (New 5th graders can join this group on kickoff weekend, September 8th.)

The Week Ahead:

Psalms and Starbucks — Wednesday, 3:00pm at the Lewiston Road Starbucks. Pastor D.L. has had some great groups of students join him this summer to drink coffee (or other Starbucks drinks) and go through a Psalm together. Drop your 6th-12th grader off there this Wednesday so that they can join in!
Celebrate Recovery — Thursday, 7:00pm — This group meets weekly at our Northgate Campus to work through hurts, habits, and hang-ups. New people are always welcome!
Pickleball — Did you know that we have several groups playing all levels of pickleball at our South Campus during the week? The best way to get connected is to download the TeamReach app and use the Group Code: B5225K for the Batavia Pickleball Club.

Coming Up:

Group Leader Workshop — Sunday, August 18, 12:15pm — Our Group Life Director, Angelique Spring, is putting together a workshop for all of our current group leaders and people who may be interested in leading a group in the future. We believe deeply in the power of group life, and this will be a really valuable time together. This meeting includes a light lunch, so if you plan on attending, please RSVP to angelique@northgatefmc.com.
Salvation Army School Supply Drive — We love having the opportunity to generously support our ministry partner, The Salvation Army of Genesee County, and make sure that every child in Genesee County has the necessary school supplies for this fall, regardless of income. Drop-off Deadline is August 25th at North Campus — Check the table in the lobby for a list of needed supplies.
Northgate 101 — Sunday, September 1, 9:30am-12:00pm — Are you interested in learning more about Northgate and possibly becoming a member? This class will cover those topics! Email office@northgatefmc.com to reserve your spot.
Fall Kickoff — Saturday, September 7 & Sunday, September 8 — Our official fall kickoff weekend is just four weeks away!
September Message Series — “Under the Influence” — The Impact of Addiction
Primetimers — Thursday, September 12, 12:00pm — Primetimers is a group of 55+ year olds who get together once a month for lunch and learning. Save the date and keep an eye out for more information.
Man Camp — Friday, September 13 - Saturday, September 14 — It’s our third annual Man Camp in Northgate’s big backyard. Registration will be required, and as the weekend gets closer, it will be available under “Events” on our app or website.
Justice Summit — Thursday, September 19 - Saturday, September 21 — Join me for the Free Methodist Justice Network Summit at Pearce Memorial FMC in North Chili. Learn more here. Registration is available here.
