Weekend Snapshot - August 3

Hey Everyone!

It’s John. I’m here in the office on my first day as Lead Pastor and more than anything else I continue to feel so grateful and humbled by the opportunity to lead and serve this incredible church in this new role! I look forward to this new chapter and all that God has in store for us!

As you can already see we are going to revamp Pastor Vern’s Top 10 format a bit. I wanted something that would hit your inboxes on Saturday morning and gave you a quick look at things to know for this weekend, events during the week ahead, and some upcoming events so that you can save those dates.

One schedule note that I wanted to make sure you knew about is that we won’t be having our Centered Service in August. We are evaluating how that service can meet our original objectives for it and the best way to proceed with it the future. If you have any feedback on that service, I would love to hear from you.

Need To Knows

This Weekend:

Prayer Shawl Ministry — Saturday, 10:00am-12:00pm — This group, led by Rosalina, meets on the first Saturday of the month at our North Campus in Meeting Room 4 to knit and crochet. They work to make prayer shawls for people who are in the hospital or sick so that they know they have been prayed for. They are also working to make 1,000 hats and scarfs by Christmas for the Salvation Army. New people are always welcome, as are beginners!
Weekend Worship Services — Saturday, 6:00pm, Sunday, 9:30 & 11:00 — Week 3 of our Rerouting… message series. Please note that we will not be having communion this weekend, but will instead be celebrating it together on the weekend of August 17/18 as a part of my official installation service with Superintendent Pam Braman.
Liturgical Worship — Sunday, 10:00am — Arbor House (350 Bank Street)

The Week Ahead:

Pickleball — Did you know that we have several groups playing all levels of pickleball at our South Campus during the week? The best way to get connected is to download the TeamReach app and then used the Group Code: B5225K for the Batavia Pickleball Club.
Celebrate Recovery — Thursday, 7:00pm — This group meets together weekly at our Northgate Campus to work through hurts, habits, and hangups. New people are always welcome!

Coming Up:
