You Can Count on This – Romans 13:11 – And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. (Read Romans 13:1-14)
Do what? Love others well. How? Treat others as you would like to be treated. Be faithful; rid yourself of murderous anger; don’t take from others what doesn’t belong to you; don’t let jealousy rule your heart. Why? Because the hour is late. Jesus is coming soon. It’s past time for us to be up and about the mission God has given to us: to love others with the love of Christ. Shake off your drowsiness and seek God’s help to share the love of Jesus with those you meet today. Make it your desire to be able to say at the end of this day, “I left no debt outstanding… I loved each person I met in the best way I knew how.”
When you’re not sure what you can count on in the world around you, know this: You can count on God keeping his word. So read what God has to say in scripture! And count on it.
