Pastor Vern's Top Ten

Hello Everyone!

Instead of the normal “Top Ten” I just want to take this moment to do a couple of things.

First, I want to thank you who are part of the Northgate family. You are an incredible group of Jesus-people and it is an honor and a privilege to serve you as your Senior Pastor. And I know that I speak for all of us who are on staff at Northgate. Your love, generosity, understanding and encouragement are amazing. These last two years have been particularly difficult for many church leaders, but you have never stopped being the wonderful people you are and we are very grateful. Please know that we love you and we cannot imagine a better place to preach, teach and lead people into relationship with Jesus.

Secondly, I want you to know about our Christmas Eve/Christmas weekend service schedule and the New Year’s weekend schedule.
  • Christmas Eve (tomorrow night)
    • 4pm – Christmas Eve service at Arbor House (350 Bank Street).
    • 5pm – “Child-Friendly” service at North. This will be about 40-45” and is geared toward the children among us.
    • 7pm/11pm – Communion Christmas Celebrations at North
      • The 7pm service will be livestreamed.

  • Christmas Day (Saturday night)
    • There are no services Saturday night this week

  • The day after Christmas (Sunday morning)
    • There will be one service at 10am at North. This will be a bit shorter than our normal service. There will not be any childcare for Kto4.

  • New Year’s Weekend
    • We will hold our normal services – Saturday (6pm) and Sunday (9:30/11am). Arbor House will be joining us that Sunday as we participate together in the John Wesley Covenant Renewal Service.

Please note that we are asking people to wear masks at all our services in keeping with the State’s mask mandate and our Conference’s request that we abide by it.  Thank you for your understanding on this.

I also want to invite you to come on Wednesday, January 5 when we will hold another “Centered Night of Prayer and Worship” at 6pm. This is a quiet time of prayer, singing and reflection on God’s grace and mercies. All are welcome.

So that’s what is coming up. If you have any questions just reach out to us at office@northgatefmc.com or you can always email me at vern@northgatefmc.com.

If I don’t get to see you at one of our Christmas Eve services, allow me to wish you a very merry Christmas now. I hope that you will experience the love and grace of Jesus not just this weekend, but always.

And two last things… first, the office will be closed from December 27th through the 30th.
Finally, don’t look for a Top Ten next week – at this point I’m not planning to put one out, but we’ll get back to it on January 6th!

Blessings to you all,
Pastor Vern
