You Can Count on This – John 2:5 – “His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”  (Read John 2:1-12)

I really can’t help smiling when I read words like this in the Bible.  It’s so simple!  It really is.  What should we do?  Whatever Jesus tells us to do!  This is our mission: find out what Jesus is telling us to do and then do that.  How are we going to find out what he’s telling us to do?  Use the means God has provided to discover his instructions:  the Bible; time with other Christians; prayer; mediation on the Word; worship.  If we’re listening, we will hear.  When you hear, “do whatever he tells you.”

When you’re not sure what you can count on in the world around you, know this: You can count on God keeping his word.  So read what God has to say in scripture!  And count on it.
